Timex Men's Expedition Camper Nylon/Leather Strap Watch

Although I have a few watches I was looking for something that was more camping specific. Something that was EASILY legible to my 56 year old vision - both in daytime and night. I needed it to have some waterproofness ability as I would also using it for kayaking. I had a Timex Expedition watch with a black dial that I gave to my son as I wanted one with a white face which I find easier to read. I gave this watch some serious consideration after seeing so many YTbers give Timex field watches the thumbs up. After 3 1/2 years - this watch was still working on the original battery then met it's fate in either the washer or the dryer. This watch kept great time, stayed waterproof and the Indiglo worked! When I bought the watch, I replaced the band with a silicone Timex one. With a good silicone band, you can wear the watch 24/7. I did. That was my 3rd identical Timex watch in a row that I owned. This is an attractive little watch, similar to the older Timex Expedition, but changes have been made.Like its earlier version, this is a small, light timepiece. The band is something different, with the case being held in place by an elastic insert sewn in. Pro - This watch stays put on the wrist, making it a good work watch. Con - pins will have to come out to remove band or change the battery. Watch itself is fine - doesn't stand out as something spectacular but is great for what it is. Definitely waterproof to about 30 feet deep - I've tested it snorkeling. The best thing is the strap - this nylon strap is much more comfortable than usual watch straps. There are a lot of nylon straps out there -- I think I prefer this one more than most of the others. the Velcro allows infinite adjustment, unlike straps with holes like a belt. Decent watch, good design, solid strap. Bad warranty.I spent a little bit more money to get a better quality product with a name brand warranty, and I feel like it was a waste of money. The backlight stopped working within 6 months. I replaced the battery, but it didn't help. I started the process of a warranty repair with Timex, but then found out they have a $8 fee for in-warranty repair. With the cost of the watch being what it is, I'll just deal with the broken backlight. Next time I'll spend less money on cheap disposable non-brand name watches
