We added this to our small restaurant kitchen as a backup machine for slower days and catering orders. It does not take up as much room as a full-size shawarma unit, but it still produces enough heat to get good color on the meat. The rotation has been smooth as long as the stack is balanced properly. The stainless steel surfaces clean up well after cooling. For the size and price, it has been a practical addition.

I bought this for weekend gatherings because my family loves chicken shawarma, and feeding 10–12 people can get expensive. I marinated the chicken overnight, stacked the slices onto the spit, and placed an onion at the bottom to help support the meat. The burners heated up quickly, and the rotating spit meant I didn’t have to turn the meat by hand. I started on high heat to brown the outside, then lowered the temperature once it had developed a nice color. The chicken came out juicy with crispy edges. Most of the grease dripped into the tray, so cleanup was fairly easy.

I used this shawarma machine for a birthday party and prepared enough chicken for about 20 wraps. It was compact enough to transport and easy to set up in a covered outdoor cooking area. Guests were immediately interested in the rotating meat. I found it easier to slice cooked meat into a warming pan and allow the next outer layer to continue browning. The heat output was strong, and the meat developed good color. Slicing the cooked outer layer into a warming pan kept service moving smoothly. It is a practical way to add shawarma to a small catering menu.
