Reallty like this machine -- glad it is what I selected. I am a beginner sewer but needed a machine to help with crafts and hemming. While I've only done some basic sewing, it was pretty easy to set up (once I got used to the needle threading) and it does a very nice job for my needs. Don't know when I will use all the stitches, but I'm glad they are there. I did watch a YouTube video to help with the threading, but once I've done it, it is pretty straightforward. One of my first jobs was hemming a pair of jeans, and the machine worked great on the denim.

UPDATE: It appears Brother has fixed the issue. Out of desperation to have a full matching set of machines and not wanting to spend thousands replacing them all, I bought a few more recently. They work exactly as expected. I’ve always loved the features of the machine (the extended table and walking foot included are 👌) and they are really reliable. I would absolutely recommend this machine to anyone!Here's the deal: I teach sewing for kids and adults at a studio I run in my town. For SIX years I was able to teach on the Brother XL- 2600i (Sew Advance Sew Affordable). They held up beautifully

This has been good for a beginner quilter but I am now ready for an upgrade. Great machine. I was able to sew through 4 layers of faux fur without many difficulties. I also tried the walking foot, it works very well. The tension on the thread is very good. The machine is simple to use, the intructions on the manual and quick reference are great. The automatic threading is fairly easy to use, once you do it once or twice it's almost second nature and takes no time. The pedal is awesome, it gives a lot of control to the user. I am very impressed with this machine! I have always had more expensive brands, and my last machine finally gave out on me and was going to cost too much to repair. So I thought I would buy something a little more cost effective to get me through until buying another larger digital machine.This one is AMAZING. Esp for the price!
