Works well when connecting older legacy devices that only have A/V cables to transmit sound and video. We got a newer TV to replace an older set in a spare bedroom. Well the older TV did have the aforementioned jacks to fit those cables, but the new one only has HDMI inputs. I just want to say from reading your other reviews I am very happy with this unit.I have a old VCR with the RCA plugs and was able to install a few minutes plug the RCA plugs in and plug the HDMI into the new Tv and it works great.thankyou

Using this to hook up older video games to new TV. Works well. Kids can use the buttons to switch input which is great. No unplugging needed to switch games.

i tried to hook up my n64 using this; and all i get is a really dark red screen thats all glitched up and screwed upand it only does that for one game, the others dont even registerthe sound also fades in and out, and is miserable qualityi dont normally leave bad reviews, but this is complete garbage. not a good thing about it

After getting a new, smaller cable box, we had room for our larger, older, multi format DVD player that lacks an HDMI output. We have an HDMI hub/switch to select our various devices.
