I've used this HDMI to old-style TV converter before and I am very happy with the price and performance. There are many of these on the market, but this is the only one I've used that converts (and slightly compresses) the image so that it fully fills the screen on the old CRT TV. Others will "letter box" the image and attempt to preserve the normal HD aspect ratio.Since I use this in the garage, on an old 12" CRT TV, the letter box approach reduces an already small image to an even smaller picture. With this device, the central part of the program fills the screen, and very little is cut off.

Perfect for my old tv that still uses this and it was so easy to set up and a great price and sounds wonderful and it has worked for a long time which I love since some people make things so cheap nowadays

Works nicely with old TV’s. The only drawback is it requires two power plugs, and both devices run very warm 24/7. To solve the overheating issue, I use a power-strip with a toggle switch.

Bought this adapter to connect a new fire stick to an older LCD, non-smart tv without HDMI ports. It has older red, white, and yellow (audio/video) composite ports.Simple install -1. When I first tried it, I used an iPad transformer and plugged it in as directed. It would only give me black and white. I checked the 'answered questions' and it was suggested I flip the PAL/NTSC switch to solve the situation. It still didn't work as my television could not process the PAL signal.I was about to send a bad review when I remembered sometimes transformers go bad (as does the wire from the transformer to the device.) Make sure you use a USB with enough power or will not work.

I followed the extremely-limited instructions to hook this thing up. Power first (with a USB adapter, not included), HDMI, then RCA. Turned the TV on and was so excited to see the Roku screen appear, in decent resolution (it's a conversion, it's not going to be HD), for all of TEN SECONDS before the screen switched to black and white and started flickering and flashing back and forth from color to B/W.I tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in. Tried plugging the cords back in different orders. Switched the switch from PAL to NTSC and back. NTSC stopped the flickering but left it so

So, this installs very easily and does what its supposed to…kinda. It seems to glitch every now and then, especially if the adapter is jostled, and requires disconnecting and reconnecting to get it working again. The video quality isnt top notch either. For this kind of product, you really do get what youre willing to pay for. If you just want something inexpensive that you only need for limited use, then this will do. However, if this is something that you will use a lot, then id recommend spending more to get a higher quality product. Im not really blaming the manufacturer as they can only b
