My 2002 46" LCD Samsung TV was getting a great HDMI signal from my Genie DirecTV satellite box for years. I purchased this product because I have a "no frills" package through my cable TV provider in that I do not have a DVR. I plugged the HDMI cable into my TV box (supplied by the cable company) and I plugged the USB cable into the back of the TV box in order to supply the necessary voltage to the device. I then plugged in my RCA cables respectively into the "Video and Audio input jacks" to direct the signal directly into the VCR/DVD recorders. Picture quality was tolerable, however there was no picture after 11 months hooked to a guest room TV that maybe provided 20 hrs of use. The audio still worked, but goodbye time and money. If someone would make a quality item that wasn't built with planned obsolescence in mind, I'd buy it for five times the amount I paid for this junk.

Generally, very pleased with device. I only there was a way to make picture a little brighter on TV as compared to computer image. Adjusting TV image doesn't work as picture remains same on multiple devices,

Tried various products for weeks with no success. I am sending my Lorex security camera DVR signal more than 50 feet to a TV. The output is HDMI but the cable buried is RCA only, with no option to run a 50 foot HDMI. Every product so far failed, except one powered unit that gave a bad B/W picture. This cable is sending a nice color signal of four cameras in 16:9 ratio perfect for flat screen. Of course the resolution drops but still looks very good. One note, be sure to plug in the USB for power; my Lorex DVR has USB output so that provides power to cable. Very satisfied, finally!
