I started out with this book and loved it so much I had to get all the Fix books. I love how it explains everything so that it is easy to understand plus the exercises to fix the issue are a bonus. My right shoulder bothers me on and off but since I read and followed the instructions in the book it has not given me any issues. As a Massage Therapist these books have been beyond helpful to me in the anatomy areas.

I ordered this book out of curiosity, but also too because I, myself have ankle pain. I already had the book about back pain from Olderman, but since I liked it and thought that book was very informative I decided to order this book too. I have started reading the Foot & Ankle Pain book and have started with some exercises. The pain in my ankle does not fully cease, but the exercises make it feel better.
Very informative!
I read the book in one day and immediately implanted the ideas. This book gives you the info you need and you simply apply it to yourself. However, most of the ideas are rather simple and could be found on the Internet. The book really just gathers information and puts you on the right path. I also liked the online videos. I'd recommend you check it out if you have foot pain and don't know where to start.
I had hoped this book would help me know what to do for my painful feet and ankles. It is difficult to determine where exactly the individual bones and tendons are that they refer to. To find the correct exercise, I basically had to guess. which exercise to choose.
My therapist is terrific, but my pain persisted after the acute injuries were 'solved'. I was afraid this pain was a life-long sentence. I followed Rick's instructions about analyzing one's gait. I then walked down the hall at home pain free albeit taking small steps as adivsed. I'm back to a full shift in the Emergency Dept. My husband will help me test my femur alighment today. I hope to be back hiking very soon!
I've had problems with pronation in my right foot for years and this book is finally helping me figure out how to take care of it. The author talks about all kinds of foot issues: possible causes, the relationship of the foot to the calf, knee and hip, how to 'walk better', how to tape your foot or ankle (amazing for pain relief!), how to loosen up your feet, pronation, supination, bunions, hammer toes and so on.Over the years I've been to several physical therapists and podiatrists. I've tried custom and customized orthotics that, at best, kept the foot from getting worse, but never improved
This book gives you the information you need to diagnose your foot and ankle pain. I found it more helpful than physical therapy. It also gives you helpful exercises and a method of walking that lessens the stress on the foot during walking. It helped me.
