Mary McMillan ~ The Mother of Physical Therapy

Miss McMillan was an inspiration throughout her life and continues to inspire with this very interesting book about her values and her career of helping others. I do not generally read biographies but found her story compelling. She made a difference in her life and seemed to enjoy her life to the max. Miss McMillan is an excellent example of grit and resilience. She was always working on her next project and determined to make a difference. I was amazed that in her 50's she left a good job in the US to move to China, learned to speak the language, and loved the culture. How she survived a POW

really interesting autobiography of the person who invented modern physical therapy. Although not officially an autobiography it is written as one because the authors based it on diaries and letters. I just wish they had used a professional editor to "fix" some syntax issues and page formatting. McMillan's actual PT book (1921) is available as a free download and complements this book well.
