The most knowledge ever on the topic of Knee Replacement. I would buy this book over and over again and will be reading it again in prep for my TKR and referring to it in recovery. It is a very easy read and understandable by the lay person. The book covers everything you need to know from how to know if the time is right to have surgery, surgery prehab, surgery day, and post surgery by the week and month. It gives you a timeline of what to expect so you feel prepared and not fearful heading into the unknown. There are plenty of diagrams, pictures of equipment needed, pictures of how to and ho
I didn’t receive any information from the surgeon’s office beyond what to expect the first few weeks post op. I certainly wasn’t prepared for the duration and commitment needed to fully recover from knee replacement. Thank goodness I came across this book, which describes in very real and personal detail on what to expect week by week, and month by month. Yes- it requires MONTHS of recovery. After reading the book, I now understand that the pain, frustration, fatigue, surprises, and worry, are all part of a recovery. I’m 6 weeks post op, and doing well, but now realize I still have several mon
The book was SO helpful to me as I was recovering and still recovering from TKR! Very practical tips and insight of where you should be on your road to recovery. Diana Braun and Dr. Raj Sinha give live facebook and Instagram advice on Fridays. They have answered all of my questions and keep encouraging me! It’s a must read and valuable during your recovery!
Very informative from first line participants, (patient and surgeon), giving vital information regarding the post op recovery phase of knee replacement. I’m thrilled to have found and completed this book prior to my scheduled procedure. I like the reference to items needed post op along with the Amazon link. This helped in deciding which items to purchase. Thank you
I am so glad that I purchased this book. I had my knee replacement surgery month ago. This book has been a great resource. It really helped me with my anxiety. Now I know what to expect and what to do. Thank you so much Diana and Dr Raj.
Great support information presented in an easy to understand format for TKR. Also lists easy to access information outside of book. Answered questions when I couldn’t talk to medical people here.
I am in the middle of reading this book as I'm writing this review. I started reading it on KU but realized I wanted to look back at my notes, so I bought the book as well. I have highlighted and wrote notes throughout the book. I will be having my total knee replacement surgery in 2 weeks and am so very nervous. However, this book helps me to understand what is going to happen what I need to do before surgery and what to do after surgery and what to expect. This is by far the best medical book I have ever read. I wish I had a book liked this for when I had my spinal fusion surgery!
