It’s my second Tiger rice cooker. The first one also holds the same amount of rice. This one is wider, but shorter. The rice cooker is made of a thinner material. It may be scratch resistant, because the first one has a gray coating. This one is just one layer of metal. It’s lighter and the functions are the same. Just what I was looking for to cook plain rice, very simple to use, wash the rice , fill to correct water line and press the button and rice comes out perfect every time! the retractable cord is also a plus!

I love 1 button simple rice cooker. This is exactly what I need. However when you plug it it's already in the warming option and then there's the cooking option and no off button??? hmmmmmm Does this mean I have to unplug it every time?Other than NOT being able to find the off button, everything else is great.Rice cooks fast (faster than my fancy zijiroshi rice cooker which I returned because it takes 1.2 hours to cook rice.)This one cooks 4-5 cups in 30 min. The best rice cooker I have ever used. The lock is a little off. But with enough attention it locks. Rice quality and easiness can’t be beat! Wonderful machine.

Avoid at all costs, the inside bucket is a too dark black color, the lid doesn't stay straight, it is flimsy and looks about to break when it settles, and it takes way too much or more space when it is open. The walls is **not the same thickness for both sides. It is just outright ugly and inconvenient. Other Tiger rice cookers are better colors, easier on the eye and the shapes, forms are better than this particular one.

Always wanted one of these tiger rice makers sine I've moved out of the parents. My mother had these (probably went through 3 in the whole 22 yrs of me living at home) while growing up and as long as I can remember, it hasn't changed. (I'm 30 now) so, since the asian store is so expensive, I was going to order whatever rice maker I can find on here. Well, I happen to have found these and got pretty excited!
