This is a really nice rice cooker and definitely a step up from the basic one we had before. It comes with a detailed instruction booklet for making all sorts of grains, including rice and quinoa, and you can even make a cake in it. This rice cooker came with a great instruction manual. It has large print and a lot of pages, so you can easily read it without squinting. I will be making mostly rice with this cooker; however, it's nice to know that it's also capable of making cakes, etc. There are 10 settings in total. I made basmati rice on the "white" rice setting. I stumbled upon this Tiger 3-cup Micom intelligent rice cooker. I've very familiar with Tiger as it's a reputable Japanese brand with many of their more premium products manufactured in Japan. This one happens to be made in Japan which is a huge for me since they tend to be of much better quality than their Chinese and SE Asian counterparts.We washed the non-stick ceramic pot and got to cooking rice.
