Not sure about the older reviews and interface / software issue. Worked great right out of the box with a great browser interface full featured and lots of use data. Setup direct from the browser interface without even using the Ubiquiti controller software. Use the setup wizard as another reviewer noted, then customize when finished. PoE 2 and 4 pair, all 5 ports can have software enabled as a switch, dual wan with traffic balancing and fall over, and fanless. What more can you expect for this price? I bought my EdgeRouter 6P as an upgrade from an EdgeRouter POE, and so that I can have two working routers and do not have to be offline while upgrading the firmware. I previously tried an EdgeRouter X for this purpose and found it to be useless because the ER-X has so little storage. Just enable logging, and the ER-X hit disk-full and stop working in two weeks.The ER-6P is another story. Ubiquiti has a large lineup of wired routers, so it took me awhile to narrow my choice down to this one.This router only does 24V PoE and does NOT have a switch chip. I don't care, I don't need PoE and already had a switch.What I needed was a high performance router that had a decent QOS implementation. I’ve been a fan of Ubiquity products for a year.This unit is great for my use as an OpenBSD router.My only complaint is unlike the Edgerouter Lite, this unit doesn’t have an easily removable EdgeOS memory module, so it takes more work to flash OpenBSD on. (I am aware I probably voided my warranty, and accept that responsibility.)It’s an awesome little box and I’d buy it again.

I really like it but there are a few glitches to be aware of...First off, the POE ports will not power any of the Unifi access points, you'll still need an injector.Second, the set up wizard gets glitchy. Sometimes you can get it to run and set up just works, other times, absolutely no connectivity, even with a static IP. Hard reset time when that happens. UPDATE: I found the secret to this router: Do the initial setup with wizard, then throw the web interface away until you have it built. For some reason changes are not reflected right away in the web interface. Changing to 5 stars. I love this router.USE THE CLI = beerI bought this router a week ago. The performance is much better than the ASUS RT86U and AX11000 that I have. The configuration is more difficult than the ASUS models I have. But it’s been a learning experience. I’m really impressed by this unit.
