First thing I did upon unboxing is check the accuracy against a set of perfectly calibrated reference weights that I have from a lab at work. The Escali Arti is dead-on accurate... to the gram... from 50gm all the way up to 5,000 grams. Even moving the weights well off-center didn't upset the Arti. Tares perfectly. The seamless glass top makes for a clean look and is easy to keep clean while using and when cleaning-up after use. I am an experienced Baker of 40 + years & have always used a digital scale to measure my ingredients. I purchased this scale because my 15+ y/o scale stopped working & i needed a replacement.This scale is NOT accurate and works poorly.I tested the weight accuracy by weighing an American Nickel. An American Nickel weighs 5 grams.The first time I weighed the nickel, I got a reading of 7 grams! I immediately removed the nickel and tried it again and got a 4 g reading! Replaced a similar scale I had been using for 20 years that finally started being off by an ounce or two. Weighing something I knew was 16oz and getting a different number was not good for certain recipes. this Arti scale seems to get the weights right and does have the option to subtract the weight of the container before loading up the stuff to be weighed. Also nice that it flips from Metric to US units.
