I'm very happy with the performance of this router. I had the Slate model for years. This is very similar but bigger and better. I was starting to have trouble with the Slate not being able to connect to every wifi network and decided to upgrade. I'm glad I did. The AX has no problem with the newest wifi6 networks when acting as a repeater. It also provides a much stronger and faster connection for clients. The software is very similar to the Slate. I use the built in WireGuard VPN software to connect to my home network. The Slate would top out at about 10 Mbps, but this one maxes out my home
