At first I thought I could scan and weigh but that's not the case. It comes with a booklet where you search for the food code, enter it and see the nutritional value. It's very helpful if you're on a weight loss journey and a relearning portion sizes! We definitely eat more than we think! You can customize food and add favorites, but you have to write them down to remember them. The keyboard is numerical only.. there is a basic app that I find more helpful than the booklet. All in all it's a helpful product.

Great scale! A bit smaller than I expected, but with the display on the right side, it is easier to get a larger plate or bowl on it and not have it obscured. The list of food codes is extensive and easy to use. this will be a great tool as I monitor the calories in what I eat.
