Take a extremely functional and durable. That needle just goes right through whatever you put underneath it. It's way quieter than my singer ever was. Eighteen different stitch options. First, kudos to the Amazon seller, Faribault Vacuum and Sewing (First Vacuum on Amazon). They shipped the machine immediately, and it arrived quickly, in perfect condition. Set up was simple and the HD-3000BE worked flawlessly right out of the gate. I started off sewing seams with six layers of heavy upholstery fabric, with basting tape sandwiched in between, and the machine hummed along with no hesitation. Bobbin winding is simple and quick. This machine is for sure heavy duty! I am impressed with the consistent stitch. My company Janeyandnell.com makes handmade handbags. I consistently switch from cloth to leather stitching in one project. This machine will not skip a stitch or loose the stitch quality sewing from thin material to 4 layers of soft leather! I keep my thread tension slightly above 4 for consistent tight stitch. I also use universal thread for continued use with all materials. I do not need a thicker thread for leather because of the machine quality. The value for this machine is amazing! Lots of extra feet and gadg
I have 2 of these HD3000s, a white one and this black BE. I quilt and sew high volume for a living, and these are wonderful workhorse machines. Light enough to tote to guild and classes. I highly recommend this machine to anyone not caring about over-the-top bells and whistles. However, of the 30+ machines I have owned in my lifetime, this one has THE WORST TOOLBOX EVER! It falls off, it's too small, the inside front "wall" is so low that your tools fall out making it impossible to close the cover. Come on, Janome! After all these years, you've got to be better than this!
This machine is a workhorse. It has the typical auto threader that all Janomes have and it took some getting used to when back stitching. I needed a machine that would stitch thru multiple layers of outdoor fabric and this one went above and beyond. It did better than my $6,000 machine!
There was a little metal piece loose inside the machine. When I tried the machine out it only sewed backwards. This is a good machine. I’d suggest getting it from a LOCAL AUTHORIZED JANOME DEALER, because the delivery people aren’t careful with it and the dealer that sells through Amazon is nowhere to be found when you have an issue.
It’s been a few months with my sewing machine and I’m so pleased with it. It really is a heavy duty machine and it’s easy to use. I love all the options to choose from and this guide on the top makes it easy to switch between stitches. I recommend this sewing machine to anyone!
