    You won't regret buying this machine.

    My wife should be writing this review, but since I bought it and heard her agonizing over the decision of which machine to purchase and from where for weeks or months, I feel like I'm nearly the consultant that SHE is on these.It's very strong, very powerful, and apparently Janome warrants these for life (do your own research on that, sounds too good to be true...) It's SO strong that the sewing table I made for her is now going to need another layer of 3/4" ply, because it vibrates crazily under certain conditions of load and speed.     You get what you pay for. I've been sewing on an excellent machine for about 25 years. There were 2 recent problems, one with the buttonholer (couldn't be repaired) and recently the whole bobbin assembly falling out. I thought it might be a good time to buy a less expensive machine as I'm now 83 and not sure how much longer I will last. I have been disappointed from the moment I started trying to follow the instructions (vague drawings) for the basic start-up procedures of winding the bobbin and threading the machine. The feet are so shiny that it is impossible to (for me) to see the hole in t

    This is my second HD5000 in 6 months. Since my first purchase of a Jerome Sewing machine to start an alteration business with, I have never used another Brand. I was told by a very well qualified repairman, that it was the best, requiring less or no repair with proper maintenance. I needed to add another machine and I decided to upgrade from a HD3000 partially because of the great sale during Amazon Days and felt a more powerful machine was going to enhance the ease of sewing heavier fabrics. I was so happy with it that I purchased a second machine to replace my 3000 that I had been using for

    All power, no convenient features

    Heavy duty motor, as advertised. All the knob and slide controls are stiff and difficult to use. If you’ve used a computerized machine in the past, to select the stitch options and to control the needle, you’ll never want to use this machine.
