My daughter lives in a historic home on the campus of a private university. I purchased this unit a few months ago and it sounds great but it was lacking the full spectrum of sound I was seeking. I decided to add the Rockville subwoofer thinking that might be the missing component. HELL YES IT WAS! Wow! I am totally pleased. My listening enjoyment is fully satisfied. Easy hookup.

I tried three different brands of speakers, all of which had shortcomings. These are almost perfect for sound quality and volume. Crisp highs and booming lows (definitely no need for a sub), and excellent volume control. They look good and sound great with all of my musical choices (rock, jazz, classical, country).The only drawback is minor...the power button is tiny. Seriously tiny. Definitely not a deal breaker, you just have to get used to where it's located, and position the speaker so that you can easily access it.These are used in a large game room, and they fill the room with music!

The remote is utterly useless, and so I just leave it on all the time. The sound is really great. I am using them as studio monitors and as long as I do not put the EQ on 2 of the three settings, there is very little digital processing going on. Of course, there is no indication of what setting you're currently on and this is very inconvenient, requiring you to use your ears to find out. But, once you set it you can forget it. If it wasn't for how good they sound the rating would be lower than 4 stars. How could they let this product out of testing with the remote the way it is?!?! Unbelievabl

Like three other reviewers said, the remote kinda sucks. The power button on the remote works only about 5% of our attempts.First off, when the description says only one in stock (both shipped and sold by Amazon) often these types of situations involve a defective item when no replacement is in stock. Amazon first says refund on return (sometimes only about a 27% refund) - then if you wait for the refund for too many months Amazon forgets the refund. I wasn't sure if these would actually fit on my bookshelf but they really do. As soon as I had these set up, I tested them out and not only do these speakers sound amazing but even with being on a shelf, there's no weird echoing. These easily connect to any bluetooth device, including projectors too! The size of these speakers are perfect for where I have them and are not overly heavy either. I am satisfied with the sound, for the price. Actually pretty good. But, the remote power button does not work. I have to turbn on / off with the button on the back. Even that works improperly...have to push it multiple times. The remote volume buttons do work. Strange. In hindsight, I would pass on these.
