This TP-Link Deco router has been a fantastic upgrade for our home network. Choosing, and setting up, a home mesh wi-fi system can be challenging. I bought two of these after researching best brands (previously had Netgear and when they had problems, it was so tough to resolve). I've been quite happy with these. One upstairs and one downstairs in a 3100 square foot home has provided excellent coverage throughout the home. The DECO app is really well designed, and shows exactly the status of the two routers. Works well. Added to Deco network. Needed to improve the wifi signal on our Florida Room.It was easy to set up, connected easily and improved the performance of our Music Streamer, Echo and wifi cameras.

The signal isn't as good as I expected especially on rainy days. Even just one room away, the signal can still be pretty weak sometimes.

They work OK but measuring speeds is more variable than I would like so saying one brand is faster than another is suspect. Still, after dozens of upload and download tests on two cell phones, three TVs, a PC and a borrowed laptop, there was no improvement with a four "point" Deco 7 wi-fi system over my 6 year old Google mesh system.

We have a cabana that I bought the outdoor TP-Link for and I guess I got a lemon because it was almost useless in less than a year. I wanted to stick with this line so I bought this one (way cheaper than the outdoor one). It is a pretty large covered cabana so I guess getting an outdoor one was not that necessary so I got this indoor one to link up with my other Deco's. So far it has worked flawlessly and we get a really good signal in the cabana. We have a TV out there as well as streaming music devices and everything works well.

Here's my experience.Pros:Good range, Small and doesn't use much space, dual band, has IOT network for cameras and such, quick reset process.The Cons:The plug for item stopped working after 3 days.Setup was sifty. It will fail most of the time and then work FINALLY.The UI (User Interface) is garbage. Fair warning there is no individual bands nor anyway to split them. Meaning 2G and 5G are combined. You can disable one or the other and even both. While on that topic. If you disable your 2G band then your guest and IOT 2G bands automatically disable also. 🤦‍♂️ Same for 5G bands.These decos will
