It truly loves up to being a heavy duty machine and to the Janome name. I sew clothes for myself, and costumes for theater productions, so it gets lots use out of it. I've only had my Janome HD3000 for a few days, and I love the way it sews so far. It feels a bit stiff compared to my electric Singer machine, but it is certainly quieter, more sturdy, and runs super smooth. I was brand loyal to anther sewing machine brand for 32 years. However:Cons:The needle threader is the backward version of all the needle threaders on all Janome Machines that I tried, including the HD1000.
