We know all Janome is a top brand.This particular model MOD-50 is very easy to use and perfect for beginners, as well as for intermediate and advanced sewers. It runs smoothly and doesn’t make too much noise, when you go slowly or fast - with fine or heavy fabrics too! The stitches are neat and consistent, and it comes with useful basic features.     Machine does what it’s supposed to do

    I have tried my sewing machine and am pleased. I’m waiting for the quilting foot so I can work on projects.I was supposed to get a hard case for my machine and only received a thin plastic one. I wonder if there was a change in products?

    Awesome Janome, as expected

    This is a fantastic economical computerized sewing machine. There is no better bang for your buck then the Janome MOD-50. I don't think this machine is recommended for beginners, it is more for intermediate-pro seamsters/seamstresses. I do recommend a mechanical Janome model for a first machine or beginner, such as the Janome 2206 or 2212. This machine is technical and computerized machines need more care than the former mechanical models. However, I can't stress how good this machine is for the money on Amazon.com. I purchased this for quilt piecing, and it is faster than I had expected. Buy

    Janome on the cheap

    I was expecting a lot more from Janome. I have sewn on my friend's Janome 3160 QDC which was a real pleasure.The MOD 50 is a very basic machine. It has fewer stitches. I thought it'd be ok since I don't really need that many. I need zig zag and button holes mostly. BUT this machine is noisy, clunky, and it struggled with thicker materials.It also came with very few presser feet. Sewing buttons without an open-front foot was truly difficult. I couldn't place the button where I wanted it, with foot F, as recommended in the manual. The buttonhole presser foot is so cheap It was also very difficul

    Bad review

    This sewing machine is not even worth the money. It will not go fast, will not go over humps, just stay and knot up, presser foot will not stay up when you press it sometimes, button hole foot will not work unless you pull it by yourself plus. So sorry I purchased it. Would return it if I could. Janome is a good machine but this is a lemon.
