I fantasized about buying this grill since seeing one on RHOSLC. When the opportunity finally arose, I jumped on it, and within a week of receiving it, we were having a raclette party in my home. We've used it once so far and had a lot of fun. The Swissmar grill is well made. Easy to use. Heats up quickly. It's something different to do for dinner. I researched food items to cook, sauces to add, the best meltable cheeses, etc. So it's kind of a work in progress to get the Raclette process and preferences down. Looking forward to exploring more meats, vegees and sauces.

We started a new Christmas Eve tradition this year with this raclette grill! It was our first time using it and it worked perfectly! I chose the cast iron top after reading reviews that the aluminum warps. I think I made the right choice. Please read this review as I just purchased this item and have used it twice. I bought the option with the cast iron top. This does not create nearly enough heat to be considered a grill. There is an electric heating element that you simply plug in and put a cooktop on. Additionally, for my version, it is NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Food sticks soooo bad. I followed all of the guidelines but still it’s impossible to avoid sticking. I was excited that it had ridges to create sear marks.
