I needed a hood to suck grill smoke out of my outdoor kitchen area. It is under a flat roof section against a window into kitchen. So very important to NOT have a lot of smoke as the wind will push it into any opening on this side of house. Everything I read said to get a 1200+ cfm fan, but I found none with such a nice low profile as this one, although it is 900 cfm. It does an adequate job of removing most smoke, but not all of it as is probably to be expected. We purchased this item back in 2021 to install in our pool house. We never used it other than to show visitors how neat it was because of the no touch factors. About a week or so ago, we noticed that it was not working - no lights - no fan - nothing. We made sure that there was electricity going to the unit and there was. Bought this a few month ago for renovations. The hood fan was finally install this month. It is not sucking air, and the speed level won’t change even when i increases it to 4. There was no different in sound. I had a 32” in my parent house and it work even better than the 42” i had in my own house. Look like i might have to buy a different brand.

Just installed so no idea on longevity. Looks great and very heavy. I would not install with plastic molly provided in hardware. The mounting brackets are much heavier than Im used to seeing from imports. Its not whisper quiet but it moves a lot of air even at low speeds. The lights are bright and even. There is a control panel on both sides if used in an isolated island. It has a remote that I threw away. It may work fine but its not needed in my installation. It has a no touch option that Im willing to try. It will allow control without physically touching the unit. Im happy with the quality

As others have noted, installing this hood under an 8' ceiling is a problem. I opted to use just one of the duct covers. First I drilled holes through the top plate and the supporting 2x4s in the attic to take 4 long bolts. Then I attached the flexible duct to the fan assembly. I attached the top plate to the "angle irons" and then to the fan & hood assembly on the counter top. I then slid the duct cover over from the top. OK, after reading and rereading the so-so directions and measuring the various components, we finnaly got a working solution. I used only one of the covers and one set of the 'angle irons', which are basically the framework for the hood to mount to the ceiling plate. I did make a 2x4 box that I fastened betwen the ceiling joists in the attic and attach the top plate to from below- this is a heavy hood. First note- the fan outlet idoes not end up directly in line with the hole in the ceiling mounting plate, so you do need that piece of flex. I could only use one of the cover sections, so I used
