It is definitely on the larger and heavier side, but I actually think that works in its favor and helps make it such a capable ice maker.The initial setup took me around an hour and a half, mostly because of the recommended first-time cleaning process. Thankfully, the cleaning itself was super easy, and the Govee Home app walked me through everything with helpful videos.The app integration has also been great. This is my family's third ice maker and it is the best by far. My main concern was noise level but we also need it to be able to keep up with 4 to 7 people every day. This one makes more than enough ice for us and it does it so quietly that we don't even notice when it turns on and off. The ice is a great "chewy" texture when it is first made; over time it melts a little and gets more crunchy and hard like regular ice. Its great, makes ice very fast, I use purified water that is run through a filter so there are no calcium or impurities that builds up. I do like that it does give a automatic reminder to clean and descale notification even though its not needed and it tells you every 100 hrs it runs but I can't turn that off. Overall best nugget ice machine I’ve had. It makes quality ice and quickly. Holds ice remarkably well for longer periods of time so the insulation is pretty good. Downside so far, it would be nice if all the lights shut off during the “do not disturb” hours I have set which is overnight so while it isn’t the worst it still lights up the kitchen after dark.
