This mouse is still one of the best mice out there, not only for the work environment, but for gaming as well. Amazing to me, since it's been out for so long, and so many mice have come out since that time - but each and every one seems to have a major flaw that makes it fall short. I would know, as I've literally tried every mouse marketed to gamers... yes, every Razer mouse, including ones they don't make anymore, the logitech gaming mice, and the Ikari Optical, Ikari Laser, Xai,the Puretrak Valor, and the QPAD 5K. My keyboards/mice matter a lot to me since I spend 80% of my day at a computer (whether at home or at work). I've used almost all of Microsoft's Mice that come with their popular keyboards as well as the Microsoft Habu for the last few years. One reason I stopped using the Habu is that after 2-3 months of use the scroll wheel is useless.The Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 is very big, if not bigger than the Habu (which is big). Scroll wheel has been fixed from previous years; feels more deliberate and natural. Side buttons seem a little muddy(in comparison to the legends edition), but are positioned and sized perfectly for the contour of the mouse and your thumb. Grip material is comfortable and doesn't peel away, or add a negative aesthetic. Plastic shell and switch covers seem on par with most other mice(wish it was a thicker layer of plastic, and that left and right buttons also featured grip material). Mouse feet are standard(exactly like the wheel mouse optical), and will attract debris if not using a mouse pad.

I have been using the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 for several years and I absolutely love it. I have looked at other mice but always find this mouse more comfortable. It's not loaded with buttons or special features like some gaming mice but it still has enough buttons for most gamers. I purchased this on Amazon as a replacement to the Logitech mouse that came with my PC when it started acting up after four years. I use the PC at home for email, writing letters and using spreadsheets. The scroll wheel has to be smooth and consistent whether moving up or down on the screen. This scroll wheel felt so bumpy and uneven, it was like driving on a pothole ladden road. And often, the wheel would get stuck, especially when moving it forward (to scroll back up on a page).
