    Carefully remove old unit - could damage refrigerator beyond repair

    Pay very close attention to the way you remove the old unit - if you damage the cooling coil you might as well buy a new refrigerator because there is no repair for the coil.Once the old unit is removed, the new unit goes in quite easily and starts producing ice right away. I found the price to be a good value.The unit is 100% compatible with a Samsung RF28R7201SR side by side french door refrigerator with flexzone drawer.

    Ice maker works

    This thing was essentially plug and play. Worked first time. Color was a bit off (more beige than white)... but you don't see it. Be careful with the plastic tabs etc on installation and there is a cooling coil that you need to really treat with care. Search "Samsung Refrigerator 'your model number" ice maker replacement" on YouTube for installation videos. Reasonably priced and makin' ice.

    OEM? Don’t think so…..

    Part doesn’t look / feel / mount like the OEM.The bottom half that folds down (air conduit) is almost opaque yellowish in color instead of white like my original Samsung ice maker. When mounting the new ice maker, the screw (air conduit) won’t fit because the hole doesn’t align!!? See pic - pic taken from googleIt fits snug enough when pushed up / closed where it doesn’t hang down but that’s not the point. Theres was no way to get the screw to mount, the hole in the new ice maker doesn’t line up.This unit doesn’t not feel, look or mount properly like the OEM ice maker.Buyer beware!!!!!!

    Product was great - no issues but they should have pointed to a good YouTube instruction as to the install. First YouTube I viewed was incomplete, easy once I saw another more complete video.
