TP-Link Dual-Band BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Router, Archer BE230

I bought this router because I'm studying and wanted to set up my own private network at home to practice. I was researching options and AI specifically recommended this one, so I decided to give it a shot, and honestly I don't regret it.What I liked the most is the interface, it's really user-friendly and easy to configure, you don't need to be an expert to understand it. It has 2.5G and 1G ports which help a lot if you have equipment that can take advantage of those speeds, and being Wi-Fi 7, the connection speed and stability feel way superior compared to previous routers I've had.Right now

An absolutely excellent router at a ridiculously good price on Amazon resale. I'm forever updating and expanding my TP-LINK network all over the house and out to the garage and yard. This is configured as an EXTENDER although you can also use it as a MESH, however the MESH multiple device limitations in a multi-router configuration is absolute garbage no matter which brand you use. Theoretically you should be able to use many devices but realistically more than 3 MESHED devices cause constant connectivity problems and dropped devices. TP-LINK consistently has good options in its configurations

TLDR: I think Tom's Hardware Guide said it best "Bringing Wi-Fi 7 to the masses... The TP-Link Archer BE3600 is cheap, but you also don’t get the full spec of features or performance of “true” Wi-Fi 7 routers". If you’re not big into gaming and just want a no-frills router to support your 1 Gbps or lower internet connection, there’s nothing wrong with the Archer BE3600. My previous router from this company finally died and I needed a replacement. It took me longer to mount this to the wall than it took to set it up. Speeds and coverage are as advertised and it immediately meshed with my existing range extender which is of a different manufacturer. Holy moly! I could not be happier! I studied network administration in college and have always been a power user for networking and network devices. I've had a bad impression of tplink for almost 2 decades, avoiding them like the plague. I researched and decided to give this router a try. It has surpassed my expectations for a router upgrade by miles. I don't have any wifi6e capable devices aside from one desktop which will be wired once everything is done with. So I have no use for the 6Ghz ity bity range band and I'm happy to have the option to save money to ditch a band that's useless to me

So far so good! Internet connection is stable, signal is excellent and the Ethernet connection to my desktop works perfectly. Setup was easy and instructions covered any mishaps likely to occur. The app makes setup easier by allowing a scan of the product label to identify the product.

I was initially excited to get the TP-Link BE3600 router because it was marketed as Wi-Fi 7. However, I quickly discovered that it actually operates on Wi-Fi 6. While it’s labeled as a Wi-Fi 7 router, it doesn’t support the full Wi-Fi 7 specification — specifically, it’s missing the 6 GHz band, which significantly impacts performance. As an experienced system administrator, I was looking forward to the advancements that Wi-Fi 7 promises, so this was quite disappointing. Additionally, since this is a 2 x 2 Wi-Fi router, it offers only half the theoretical performance of other dual-band Wi-Fi 7
