The SxS Refrigerator Ice Container stores ice in the freezer compartment for dispensing. This part is designed to be used with select washer brands, including Whirlpool®, Kenmore®, Amana®, and Maytag®; check to see if your model number is compatible. When removing the ice maker container, be sure to lift the ice shut off arm up.
Please note that this ice container does not include parts for the auger. Installing this accessory will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
Also turn off the refrigerator's water supply before you begin.

Order was delivered earlier than estimated. It slid right into place. The ice maker is running much more quietly than it did with the original part. The original part had become cracked and ice would collect at the back of the rotating metal piece. So far (installed yesterday) this has been a great purchase!

This is hopefully going to stay working. A design flaw in the icemaker...the 4 piece ice shape is TOO BIG to get dispensed. More is not always better.
